Weird as it is working for the International Paranormal Containment Agency, Evie's always thought of herself as normal. Sure, her best friend is a mermaid, her ex-boyfriend is a faerie, she’s falling for a shape-shifter, and she’s the only person who can see through paranormals' glamours, but still. Normal.

Only now paranormals are dying, and Evie's dreams are filled with haunting voices and mysterious prophecies. She soon realizes that there may be a link between her abilities and the sudden rash of deaths. Not only that, but she may very well be at the center of a dark faerie prophecy promising destruction to all paranormal creatures.

So much for normal.

If you like a book with tons of fantasy creatures like mermaids, shape-shifters, FAERIES(!!), and werewolves, then this is the book for you.

If you like a book with a strong plot, and a female heroine, and FAERIES, then this is the book for you.

If you like books with a hottie in it, with another hottie being a FAERIE, then this is the book for you.

Why do I like this book?

Two reasons.
1) Lend, /the/ hottie, is fan-flippin-tastic.
2) FAAAAEERRRIEESS.

I mean, faeries that are beautiful and awe-inspiring and powerful. Not the faeries that get trapped in jars and kicked out the window. No. The former one is the type in Paranormalcy. And I love them, even the Unseelie faeries. The 'other' hottie in the book is a faerie named Reth. (Such an awesome name!) He's kind of a jerk, but the imagery that White gave with him... 'tis smoldering.

Anyway, the story is about Evie, a girl with a power to see through all glamours and she works for the IPCA - International Paranormal Agency. She hunts down vampires, werewolves, zombies and etc., tags them, and makes sure they get to the IPCA. The IPCA is an agency that controls as many paranormals as possible, and employs many of them, like FAERIES.

As usual, there has to be conflict, right? Well, the IPCA is broken into by the story's ultimate hottie, Lend. Someone's also killing hundreds of paranormals, and Evie is being pursued by the other hottie, Reth. There is a lot of magic and different creatures used in this book. It's a very interesting read, and I love the plot line. I don't want to reveal too much about it, so I'll stop there.

However, with every pro, there is a con. What's mine? I don't like Evie. She's so unrealistic, which makes her extremely hard to connect to. Lend was a better main character than her, in my opinion. In the end, I think the problem was that White hadn't developed Evie on every layer. The surface layers were there, but there was nothing underneath. BUT. She’s not hideously bad. I just think she could have been a stronger character.

Would I suggest this? Yeah. Heck, I've already lent out my copy! Now, go pick up a copy, and experience the awesome-ness of Lend and White's fantastic plot.
