The Trunk in the Attic

My sister read this and wanted to do a review of it, so I let her. Without further ado, here is Sami!

The Trunk in The Attic
Gloria Smith Zawaski

The Trunk in the Attic is about 2 kids and their dog Cooper who go on an adventure from New York to Holland. The story starts out with them at their Aunt Jean's farm. They hear Cooper barking outside and go to see a manhole deep inside a hole that Cooper dug. A 12 year old boy named Dirk comes out of the manhole asking them if they are Undercover Kids. They are confused, and so he leaves. Later they hear something in the attic so they go up to investigate. In there they find an old trunk that can talk. Inside the trunk they find a scarf, a picture in a tin frame, dog tags, some old coins, and a wooden box with two deep purple bands inside. The purple bands were the same ones Dirk was wearing. The next day they go down the manhole they found earlier with the purple bracelets on (Cooper was wearing his as a collar) and flew from New York all the way to Amsterdam, where they meet Dirk. There they try some new food, ride bikes over town, and discover new places. Then suddenly, Cooper is gone. Will the get him back?

Okay, time to review. Even though this book was a little younger then the books I normally read, it was still good non-the-less. It was fun to find out that pannenkoeken is really pancakes with ham, cheese, and tomato on top. I wish I could've seen a bit more, but of course, Cooper's gone and what not. :P I suggest that ages 7-12 read this book, maybe younger if they are good readers.

Bad Kitty or The Trunk in The Attic?: I'd have to say Bad Kitty, but only because it's what I am used to reading. I still liked The Trunk in The Attic though. :)

Rating: 9/10. There are sure to be new books soon! :D
