Top Six

As I was daydreaming yesterday - about both Gail Carriger's Lord Maccon and Johnny Depp's Jack Sparrow - I realized there were quite a few fictional characters who would make Earth just a bit more epic. Of course, I couldn't go without sharing my list with you guys!

And then I realized that my list consisted of mostly guys, as they would be the ones I adore. So I have split my list.

Here are the Top Six fictional guys and gals that would make Earth just a bit more... interesting. Some, you may notice, are tag teamed - and not all are from books. It would have been Top Five, but I couldn't leave out the last two. It'd be rude.

Male & Female #1
Lord Maccon and Alexia Tarabotti
Original Location: Soulless by Gail Carriger
Reasons Chosen: One soulless female. One "loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf" male. Both stubborn, kick ass, and more interesting than any person I've read about in quite a long time.

Male #2
Captain Jack Sparrow
Original Location: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Reasons Chosen: ... must I really explain this? He's Jack Sparrow. Captain Jack Sparrow. Savvy?

Female #2
Jacky Faber
Original Location: Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer
Reasons Chosen: She's just a generally kick ass character. Female pirates are so very rare, and one that has Jacky's morals and way of thinking? Besides, if we combined her with Male #2, this world would be so very, very interesting.

Male and Female #3
Robinton and Lessa
Original Location: Dragonflight by Anne McCaffrey
Reasons Chosen: Not only is Robinton - in his younger years - attractive, but he's wise, composes excellent music, feels no reason not to love, and is utterly and completely trust worthy. And Lessa is resourceful, takes no crap, and managed to go from a cellar girl to the most influential women in Pern. I'd like to stick them against Bill and Hillary Clinton, thank you very much.

Male #4
Mr. Darcy
Original Location: Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen & various movies
Reasons Chosen: Oh, Darcy. *swoon*
BBC Version | 2005 Movie | Book

Female #4
Elphaba Thropp
Original Location: Wicked: The Broadway Musical
Reasons Chosen: Why didn't I chose the book one? For one, though the book one is undoubtedly awesome, the musical version sings. And is more resourceful. And more magical. And a generally nicer and funnier character than the one in the book. I do love Gregory Maguire's Elphaba - Winnie Holzman just makes her more relatable.

Male & Female #5
Professor Dumbledore and Luna Lovegood
Original Location: The Harry Potter series
Reasons Chosen: Dumbledore is the fantasy geek's equivalent of God. As for Luna - she's crazier than the Joker, sweeter than a lollipop, and somehow manages to influence the world around her just by being Luna. And you have to admit - everybody loves Luna.
For the record, neither Harry nor Hermione nor Sirius made this list. But I love all three of them.

Male #6
Artemis Fowl (and, by default, Butler.)
Original Location: Artemis Fowl by Eoin Colfer
Reasons Chosen: He's a millionare, has connections to the Fairy world, is a bloody genius, and that's not even before he's 16. He could give Bill Gates a good run for his money - actually, he could give anybody a good run for their money. Besides, he'd come with Butler. And Butler is awesome.

Female #6
Katsa
Original Location: Graceling by Kristin Cashore
Reasons Chosen: Have you watched that girl fight? I'd like to stick her on Survivor or something and see how she does. Besides, she'd be the modern day Robin Hood, and that'd be pretty darn awesome.

Honorary Mentions
Dimitri - Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
Hermione Granger - Harry Potter series
Sirius Black - Harry Potter series
Dace - Medalon by Jennifer Fallon
Bertie & The Faeries - Eyes Like Stars by Lisa Mantchev
