Author Halloween Love

What is a book without its' author? Halloween wouldn't be quite the same without witches and warlocks, vampires and werewolves, ghosts and ghouls, and books wouldn't quite be the same without their authors. Hell, they wouldn't exist!
So we're bringing together your favorite authors and their favorite parts about Halloween. This comes in THREE PARTS. Two parts today, and one super special third part on Halloween day!

Over here at WORD, I'm bringing you a quote from Shari Maurer, author of the super fantastic Change of Heart. I had the chance to interview her a few months ago - she's super sweet! What is her favorite part of Halloween?

Kids come to my neighborhood from all over town. We have a great time trick or treating and then everyone (and I mean everyone) comes back to my house for pizza. They divide up their candy, trade a little and then head back out. It's my daughter's friend Kory's birthday, so we always have a cake for him. It's a high-sugar day and is always tons of fun.

And not only do you get to know about why Shari loves Halloween - you get to learn about why Sophie Jordan loves it, too! Sophie is the author of Firelight, which I absolutely adored when I read it a few months ago.

I love Halloween for so many reasons. It's just a fun time of year and makes me feel cozy inside ... all the warm fall colors, the cooler weather, the pumpkins everywhere! I smile seeing people dressed up and indulging in their fantasies. As a writer, I indulge in my fantasies every day!

But that's not all! Just take a hop and a skip on over to these other blogs, and see what even MORE authors love about Halloween! All you gotta do is click the link to the blog name. (Or other link if specified.)
